Nothing says ‘home’ like a yellow door and a matching flower box. I would be quite content living here, not to mention it’s in Ireland…
Southbound
Lauren Campbell & The Dusty Figurines
Adorable little song that I can’t get out of my head.
Aw, someone thinks “Southbound” is adorable :) This makes me happy.

I remember watching this, and being so happy for them. Marketa’s speech at the very end of the video is inspiring beyond belief.
This is such a big deal, not only for us, but for all other independent musicians and artists that spend most of their time struggling, and this, the fact that we’re standing here tonight, the fact that we’re able to hold this, it’s just the proof that no matter how far out your dreams are, it’s possible. And, you know, fair play to those who dare to dream and don’t give up. This song was written from a perspective of hope, and hope at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are.

Thanks to my Nana and @heyamy, I’ll have some goods to open up tomorrow! Last night being 21 … (Taken with instagram)
Agh, I’m so disappointed in myself. I started this blog hoping that I would contribute something to it every day, more as a test to myself to stick to something than anything else, and I’ve most definitely failed that task. But what can a girl do? Some how the last 2 and a half months have left me in the dust. I don’t know where they went! I keep thinking “what did I do with my time?” but I guess I have been productive. I’ve written a handful of new tunes that I’m proud of. I did some co-writing with some people that I really look up to and learned some interesting new ways to go about writing. That’s the coolest part about co-writing, taking bits and pieces of the things you’ve learned from other writers and mashing them together to come up with something new. It’s funny, now when I listen to my songs, I will hear a certain chord progression and it will remind me of a close friend of mine that I would often hear playing a similar if not the same one, little things like that. It’s like I’m keeping all the things I love and that are important to me tucked away nicely in each individual song. Which I guess is what makes writing music so personal. I hope that makes sense, because I just read it over and it sounded incomplete. Ah well! Anyways, while I’ve been unproductive on the blog front, I’ve been super productive in my song bubble, and that makes me feel good :)
Hope everyone has a fabulous Easter weekend! I’m home bound tonight. Excited!
L.
